STEERS
1. Read general rules and regulations.
2. Classes will be established for:
1. American Breeds and American Crosses (Bos Indicus influenced steers)
2. English Breeds (Angus, Red Angus, Shorthorn, Hereford and Polled Hereford)
3. All Other Breeds and Crosses
3. Steers must be owned and in possession of the exhibitor in accordance with the Texas
State Validation Guidelines.
4. Classes will be broken by weight. The Livestock Committee will break classes as evenly
as possible.
5. Any animals that are deemed unruly will automatically be sifted. All sifted animals must be
removed from the barn immediately.
6. An award will be presented to the breeder of the highest placing Mason County bred and
raised steer.
7. Premium Sale Sheets are due immediately after the show.
HEIFERS

2. Classes will be established for:
1. American Breeds and American Crosses (Bos Indicus influenced)

3. All Other Breeds and Crosses
3. Heifers must be owned and in possession of the exhibitor in accordance with the
Texas State Validation Guidelines.
4. All heifers must be registered with their respective breed association to be eligible to
compete. Original Registration Papers must be presented at check in. Crosses do not
require registration papers.
5. Heifers may not have a birth date older than September 1, 2021.
6. The Livestock Committee will break classes as evenly as possible.
7. Any animals that are deemed unruly will automatically be sifted. All sifted animals
must be removed from the barn immediately.
8. Premium sale sheets are due immediately after each show.
9. Given that generally heifers are two-year projects, no heifer may be sold in the
premium sale more than once.
